Work-life balance is important to us, and when we’re not working to take care of our patients, you can find our team out enjoy all of what this great city has to offer.
Between the small-town feel, the safety of our city, and all the dynamic events going on — Ottawa really has it all. Read on to learn more about the reasons why we love working in Ottawa and serving the local community.
The Kind & Generous People
Ottawans are very kind and generous people. They believe in community, volunteering, and giving back even when times are tough. In fact, the OECD reported that they spend two minutes a day volunteering, and 93% of people believe that they know someone they could rely on in a time of need. We couldn’t be more proud to call Ottawa our home and the people here our friends and family.
A Small Town Feel
Although Ottawa has around a million residents that call the city home, it still has that small-town charm and community feel that we love. Every person you meet here can easily turn into a friend. It’s also a family city, which is why it’s a great place to have children and raise a family.
A Community That Cares About Small Business
Small businesses are the backbone of Canada. And unlike other large metros, Ottawa really cares about supporting them. Our community supports the endeavours of young professionals, small businesses, entrepreneurs, non-profits, and mom and pop shops. There are also many resources here to help small businesses grow and succeed.
Our Continuous Support for Each Other
All you have to do is attend a Sens game or high school sports tournament to really understand how proud Ottawans are. We’ve never seen a community come together quite as Ottawa does. When our sports teams are playing, no matter what level, our community shows up to support them.
Excellent Healthcare Services
Ottawa has some of the best healthcare around. And as dentists, that is incredibly important to us. This allows us to provide affordable dental care to those in our community. And it also allows us to help the less fortunate in our city get care when they could otherwise not afford it.
Fantastic Neighbourhood Associations
Residents here love working together to create vibrant and safe neighbourhoods for all. No matter what your race, sexual orientation, age, or gender is, you are welcome here. From community watch groups, BBQs, farmers markets to mix and mingles and fundraisers — our community associations bring people together and help make our communities stronger.
Dental Care Assistance
Ottawa has also made it easy for us to help low-income adults and children receive dental care assistance. Through programs like Ontario Works, our clinic can provide urgent dental care and denture services to adults. We also participate in Healthy Smiles Ontario (HSO) which helps to cover regular and emergency dental care for children 17 and under.
The Abundance of Healthy Food Options
There are many markets and restaurants in Ottawa that are focused on sustainable agriculture and the farm-to-fork lifestyle. You’ll also find a variety of locally grown produce, freshly picked fruits, and organic items easily throughout the city which makes it easy to lead a healthy lifestyle. As dentists, we take the health of our clients seriously, and we love that our city makes our lives a little bit easier when it comes to recommending a healthy diet.
There’s no doubt about it; our Rockcliffe Dental team loves working in Ottawa and serving our community. To us, Ottawa is the city of opportunity. Not only does it have the most wonderful and supportive people and the best healthcare services, but it also has incredible education opportunities. And these programs allow us to stay committed to continuing education and learning so that we can offer the most advanced treatments to our patients. If you’re in need or a new dentist, give us a call to learn more about our services, or pop by to speak with our staff. They’ll be glad to set up an appointment and answer your questions.
